Third recall of 2025 for Tesla’s Cybertruck this year, and this time it covers 10% of the trucks on the road today. The Cybertrucks manufactured between 13 November 2023 and 5 November 2024 are installed with an optional off-road light bar accessory. But this accessory has been inadvertently attached to the windshield by using an inadequate primer of glue. The automotive industry uses primer for better adhesion between the two objects. The purpose of the dealer-installed lightbar was to improve the visibility for the drivers when the sun goes down, but it back fired them, leading to the recall of those Cybertrucks.

The Issue:
The light bar started to separate from the vehicles while driving, and the issue stems from the problems related to the poor adhesive material while installing it. Consumers also observe the gap between the light bar and the windshield, and it also feels loose when touched. Tesla has identify total of 619 warranty claims, and 1 field report concerning the issue. There is no report of collision, fatalities, injuries, or accidents because of the problem.
As per the recall report of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the separation from the pickup while driving can become hazardous, mainly for others on the road.
Remedy:
First, Tels will inspect the situation, whether it is delaminated or damaged, and if either of the issues is presented, then the replacement process will take place. And if any of it appears, then they retrofit the off-road light bar accessory with a positive mechanism attachment.
For now, they have decided to develop a new steel bracket which will be used to affix both sides of the light bar, making it stronger than before. On December 26, 2025, the automakers decided to begin the repair process in early 2026. Till then, it is advised to the owner to drive in limit or slowly if their Cybertruck have light bar. Or they can secure that with some duct tape for safety purposes. All 6197 owners must have received the letter related to the concern via mail.
