So far, Tesla’s Cybertruck recall indicates that the vehicle is not sturdy or reliable to drive. Tesla Cybertruck Recalls: Reasons.

(1) January 2024
This impacted 2,193,869 vehicles because of the visual warning indicator whose font size is smaller than required for brake, park, and anti-lock braking systems (ABS). This size discrepancy might reduce the visibility of the driver and can delay the response when needed or in a critical condition. Thereby, this poses a huge risk of a crash, which is why it is needed to have over-the-air software updates.
(2) April 2024
On the affected Cybertruck, when high force is applied to the pad of the accelerator pedal, the pad dislodges, causing the pedal to become trapped in the interior trim. This increases the risk of collision. The issue came to light during the test drive in March 2024. Tela’s investigation revealed that an unapproved lubricant (soap) was used during assembly, which reduced the adhesion, allowing the pad to lose grip. The company replaced or reworked on accelerator pedal assembly at zero cost.
(3) June 2024
In their report, Tela stated that sail appliqué or adhesion is not properly installed during assembly, which can result in can separation of the sail appliqué from the vehicle. The installation process was done by Tesla’s engineering team at Giga Texas. The reason behind this recall is that if separation happens during driving, not only the driver, the surrounding vehicles will be impacted. And it has been observed after customer complaints.
This is the second setback of the futuristic truck by Tesla in June 2024 alone. Due to the electrical overstress to the gate driver component, the front windshield wiper motor controller is unable to work or stop functioning. This impacts visibility, especially during rain, and this increases the risk of accidents. Although this voluntary recall issue seems small, but shows continuous negligence in production that can cost someone’s life.
(4) October 2024
Rearview display delayed issue
This recall was made by Tesla because of an issue with their rearview camera image display. When shifted to reverse, the display took way too long to show the view, and the delay possibly hindered the ability of driver to access the surroundings when backing up.
This internal software validation issue was discovered after user feedback, which confirmed that the firewall glitch in the infotainment system caused the lag. However, the issue was isolated to certain software builds installed during production. The over-the-air software update is the solution that the company has processed, which corrected the camera display timing, ensuring full compliance.
(5) November 2024
In November 2024, Tesla recalled the 2024 Cybertruck due to a faulty power inverter—a highly important component tasked with converting the energy of batteries into usable form for the electric motors. A flaw in the internal circuitry within the inverter would cause an instantaneous and complete loss of driving power when the car is moving. This was a high-risk safety problem, as unexpected loss of power at highway speed or in traffic situations could cause accidents or leave the driver stranded under adverse conditions.
Tesla started the recall based on customer complaints and internal diagnostic tests, wherein it was established that the failure was restricted to a particular batch of production. The faulty inverters were exchanged at Tesla repair shops. There were no accidents or injuries due to this fault reported.

Tesla recalled Cybertrucks in December 2024 because of a software glitch with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The condition made the low tire pressure warning light vanish between drive cycles, even when there was critically low tire pressure. This violated FMVSS No. 138, which states the TPMS warning should not be turned off until it is fixed.
Tesla solved the issue by providing an over-the-air (OTA) software patch to guarantee that there were standardised and correct warning messages. There were no crashes or injuries associated with this recall, and it underscored the need for strong system integration in contemporary vehicle safety systems.
(7) March 2025
Can’t rail delaminate at the adhesion joint
Can’t rail, a cosmetic appliqué attached above the windshield, has been compromised during the assembly process. Due to inadequate adhesion, the light and right windshield seals detach from the vehicle while driving. The issue was observed during durability testing of the Cybertruck, along with customer reports. This poses a serious hazard, which led to the process of recall process by Tesla.
