· Sage Law Group, LLP

Year 2025 was not good for Ford, and all this was because of the number of recalls. Than any other automaker, Ford logged more recalls due to safety reasons. As per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a total of 152 recalls have been made by the automakers, second is Honda with 53, third is Forest River with 32, followed by General Motors with 27, and International Motors with 26. Every month, they made 12 recalls on average, which is definitely not a good sign for the automaker.

This clearly indicates that automakers are lacking in providing quality vehicles, even with high prices. Ford Explorer, Mustang, Edge, and E-series are at the top of the list of recalls covering millions of vehicles.

Major 2025 Ford Recalls

  1. Rearview camera failure, which shows blank images, affected more than 1.4 million vehicles covering Fiesta, Fusion, Flex, Mustang, Taurus, Explorer, and C-Max.
  2. Brake booster failure issue has been detected in F-150, Ranger, Navigator, and Expedition, and led to the recall of 312,000 vehicles.
  3. Fuel pump and fire risks can cause potential engine fires, and this caused Ford to recall 850,000 Bronco Sport and Escape SUVs.
  4. 103,000 F-150 trucks have been recalled due to Rear axle hub bolts, which cause rollaway risks.
  5. Headlights are one of the issues that have been detected in Mustang Mach-E, covering 45,000 vehicles.
  6. 56,841 Lincoln and Explorer vehicles have been recalled because of the improperly bonded windshields.
  7. Airbag and electrical issues have been detected in Bronco Sport/Escape of 2021-2024 models, and F-150/Edge/Explorer of 2021-2022 models.
  8. Some Maverick pickups are also included in this process because of detachable instrument panel covers.

The automaker also ended their year 2025 with another recall due to a software error in 2022-2024 Escape Hybrid and Maverick Hybrid vehicles, due to cause loss of drive power. Although these are just 87 units, but it potentially affected the vehicles. Four more recalls were also made, which involve the instrument panel cover that could detach approximately 6897 models of the year 2025-026. These are Maverick pickup truck concerns, headlights, which might fail in 2025-2026 mustang mach e-vehicles covering 45,000 units

As per federal law, manufacturers need to notify consumers about issues in vehicles that are unable to meet the federal motor vehicle safety standards. This is to ensure the safety of the users. Not only can manufacturers initiate the recall orders, but NHTSA (which is a part of the Department of Transportation) can also order recalls based on consumer complaints and safety investigations.
