Dodge Vehicle Recalls and Common Dodge Problems Faced By The Owners
Manufacturers have to announce recalls of their vehicles when it does not meet minimum safety standards or with unreasonable safety risks. As lemon law lawyers in California, we keep an eye on every update and share this information with vehicle owners.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has announced a recall of 2018-19 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs in June 2022. A total of 270,000 vehicles were affected this time, and, at this time, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles did not have a fix for the problem.
The reason for the recall is the Rollaway risk. Affected SUVs Doget Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee, by mistake, might start and roll away due to a faulty ABS unit.
FCA stated that the issue is due to a defective hydraulic control unit installed in the affected Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles. These affected SUV vehicles were manufactured between June 10, 2018, and April 30, 2019
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is not the only vehicle manufacturer facing this rollaway issue and recalls. Ford, in April 2022 recalled 3 million vehicles due to a rollaway problem.
Other problems faced by owners of Dodge owners
The problems faced by Dodge owners go beyond recalls due to rollaway issues. Dodge owners face many other issues:
Improperly Installed Windshields
Instrument cluster malfunction
Unexpected Loss of Driver power
Loss of Steering control
Malfunction of side curtain airbags
Manufacturers must address these issues without any burden on the customer. Vehicle manufacturers should provide no cost service related to these issues or any other issue due to a manufacturing defect.
