Chrysler Recalls Over 91000 Jeep hybrid SUVs Due To Potential Loss of Drive Power

· Sage Law Group, LLP

Chrysler recalled nearly 91,787 Jeep Grand Cherokees plug-in hybrid SUVs. This includes the model of certain 2022-2026 vehicles according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Chrysler Recalls Over 91000 Jeep Hybrid SUVs

This is because the car is experiencing an overload of the battery pack control module (BPCM) microprocessor. This overload is resetting the BPCM, disrupting the hybrid control processor (HCP) incorrectly, as it is getting signals from the BPCM. The issue started on July 23, 2021, when the company suspected an issue with the HCP software when it was introduced in vehicle production. This ended on August 29, 2025, as the affected vehicles were brought under control at the plant. But this did not stop here, as in August 2025, they got 96 customer assistance records, 110 field reports, and 320 service records related to the problems with potential loss of drive power.

Due to the faulty battery pack control module, an unexpected loss of propulsion is happening. This can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning and can lead to serious problems. As of now, the company is not aware of any accidents or injuries.

The solution to the problem is yet to be decided, but all the owners will be notified by October 23, according to the recall report. They have also added a general reimbursement plan to the file. But the vehicles that do not have an HCP or were manufactured after the suspected period are not considered under this process. Still, if the owners are facing issues, they are advised to visit official dealers of Chrysler.

For more information, it is best to visit the NHTSA official website or contact Chrysler directly. The NHTSA recall number is 25V576.
